I’m currently working on an update to William Wicks’ magnificent three-volume The History of the Secular Franciscan Order in the United States. An excellent, archive-quality collection that belongs in the library of every US Fraternity, I hope to do justice to the period from 2008 through 2020 (yes, I’ll be writing straight through to publication). But a History can’t be just facts and lists. These are the stories of many people making countless contributions to a journey too large to perceive. To embrace its power we must dive in and become part of its current. We must allow ourselves to be changed…
